The bookshelves are the body of the library, they replicate in a way thta makes you feel like you are lost your spatial notion, creating the same feeling that reading gives you: lose yourself in your own mind.
We believe Mies Collection is the most important part of this library, that is why we place it in the center of the building, making it “the heart of the library”, standing out for its unique color.
Three decisions marked the way of the design of this project:
1.Affect the ground it is water absortion capacity as little as possible, that is why we decided to lift the building, creating a covered public plaza for the students to enjoy.
2.Universal architecture:having a free plan that can be modified in the future, even expand,
dismount or displace. The bokshelves are based on this reason, it can easily be modified based on the users wishes and necesities.
3. The volumen’s goal is to generate a translucid skin that keeps you in contact with the exterior, but also inmersed in your own toughts.
