Bauhaus is contemporary but historical; Bauhaus is sinful but sacred; Bauhaus is advanced but diehard; Bauhaus is changeable but eternal.
Bauhaus must have a sense of historical responsibility. What the Bauhaus needs is not to re-understand in a contemporary way to make it no longer a Bauhaus,
but to be itself by maintaining its golden age a century ago, in order to let the thinking of that era continue to inspire the current world.
FOR STUDENTS
Bauhaus provides a learning experience like it does a century before. Students understand the relationship between function and form through hand-crafting.
No student will consider Bauhaus when learning parametric design.
FOR THE PROJECT
The new Bauhaus is simple in site design and overall shape, uses artistic symbols from Bauhaus to conform to people’s stereotypes of it.
It adopts the form of suspended structure, with the core of vertical traffic supporting the upper ribbed roof and a floor slab suspended from the roof.
The density of the structure decreases from top to bottom to divide the space vertically, making the types of functional space adapted to the structural spacing.
