Ludwig Mies van der Rohe Memorial Library takes place in the Illinois Institute of Technology campus, right behind the Crown Hall. Main concept idea was to create a transparent, weightless glass box, that makes unobstructed connection to the environment and city. It is also a combination of main nature elements – water and earth, and modern architecture, provided by glance, mirror pool and green garden with various vegetation.
Library is divided by shelving / reading, and study zone with research stations and auditorium. Technical premises and archive are located on the ground floor.
