Imagina un campus donde hasta el último de sus rincones te invite a crear y vivir experiencias únicas e irrepetibles. Un lugar donde naturaleza y arquitectura vayan de la mano y donde cada detalle, por pequeño que sea, resulte ser importante. El diseño de esta escuela y su entorno trata de ir mucho más allá, pues rompe con los estándares convencionales, eliminando de raíz el concepto de jerarquía gracias al dinamismo y versatilidad de sus límites, los cuales garantizan la libertad de movimiento tanto de elementos como de las personas y sus ideas.
En definitiva, se plantea este espacio de creación y aprendizaje como una narración horizontal tanto en lo académico como en lo urbano en la ciudad de Dessau, cuyos elementos invitan a ser recorridos, atravesados, explorados y, sobre todo, compartidos con el resto de sus habitantes.
Imagine a campus where every single corner invites you to create and live unique and unrepeatable experiences. A place where nature goes hand in hand with architecture and where every detail results important. The design of this school tries to break with conventional standards, removing the concept of hierarchy because of the dynamism and the versatility of its spaces. Spaces that guarantee the freedom of the movements for the elements and people and their ideas.
To sum up, this space of creation and learning is contemplated as an horizontal narration in an academic way and urban one in the city of Dessau, whose elements invite going through, exploring and above all, sharing among its inhabitants.
AUDITORIO / AUDITORIUM
Su disposición y forma surge de la búsqueda por conectar las zonas norte y sur del campus. Su estructura a base de lamas se conecta de forma directa a la zona exterior del centro de exhibición. Estructura que, en dicho punto de conexión, posee formas orgánicas y cambiantes que, una vez pasamos la zona de conferencias y nos acercamos a su extremo opuesto, se organizan de una forma mucho más ordenada y meticulosa.
The structure originated from connecting the north and the south part of the campus. The wooden verdigris connects directly to the exterior zone of the exhibition center. The organization of the verdigris changes through the design from chaos to order.
TALLERES / WORKSHOPS
Sus distintos niveles, rampas y lucernarios definen espacios alterables que, con sus paneles movibles, definen un lugar polivalente que hace más sencillas las labores de ideación y creación.
The different levels, ramps and skylights define changeable spaces. The moving partitions make these workshops a polyvalent space that makes the ideation and creation tasks easier.
CENTRO EXHIBICIÓN / EXHIBITION SPACE
Se plantean dos espacios diferenciados de exposición, uno de ellos interior y el otro, exterior. Ambas zonas se conectan tanto a las aulas como a los talleres con el fin de garantizar la conexión entre aprendizaje y sus frutos.
It appears in two divergent exhibition spaces, being one of them indoors and the other one outdoors. Both areas are connected with the classes and also with the workshops in order to ensure the relation among learning and its results.
AULAS / CLASSES
Un espacio de búsqueda del conocimiento. Aparecen tres niveles cuyas funciones y jerarquías se entremezclan para generar un espacio dinámico alejado del modelo de aula tradicional.
It is a space that strongly seeks knowledge. It is configured in three different levels, whose functions and hierarchies are jumbled for the purpose of generating a dynamic space as farest away as possible from the traditional model of class.
RESIDENCIA / DORMS
La propuesta combina un total de 40 núcleos de habitación modular, siendo 10 de ellas de uso compartido, con la mayor cantidad posible de espacios comunes con el propósito de favorecer la interacción y el encuentro entre sus residentes.
The proposal combines a total of 40 nucleus, 10 of them being of shared use, creating one big common space on purpose to benefit the interaction between the residents.
CAFETERÍA / CAFETERIA
En el centro neurálgico se ubica la cafetería. Elemento de unión y de conexión tanto del resto de espacios que la rodean como de los usuarios de los mismos, erigiéndose así como epicentro social y de convivencia del campus.
It takes place in the neuralgic centre. Connects the rest of the buildings and the students, being the social epicenter of the campus.
#1 Tableros
Enganchados a las vigas, facilitan la variación del mobiliario del aula y la fluidez de sus integrantes, generando nuevas posibilidades y huyendo de la concepción de pupitre estudiantil tradicional.
Connected to the beams, is contributing to the variation of the furniture within the classes. Thanks to these new possibilities we detach from the traditional student desk.
#2 Paneles móviles
Ubicados en el taller, definen retículas que permiten su movimiento para configurar el espacio en función de las necesidades de sus estudiantes.
Located in the workshops, these pieces are defining reticules which allow movement to set new and particular spaces. This will allow the students a way to adapt the space according to their needs.
#3 Estantes elevadores
Es el elemento en el que se ubican elementos tales como impresoras 3d, hornos o máquinas. Permiten que estos se muevan verticalmente según la intención del usuario.
This element is where elements such as 3D printers and other machines are located. Allowing this to move vertically according to the user’s intention.
#4 Percheros móviles
La finalidad de estas piezas es mejorar la accesibilidad y comodidad de los residentes cuyas limitaciones físicas o altura no sean acordes con las medidas estándar de estos elementos.
The goal of these pieces is to improve the accessibility and comfort of residents whose physical or height limitations don’t match the standards of common elements.
#5 Bancos
Su planteamiento tiene como prioridad generar un lugar de encuentro sin limitaciones fomentando así la interacción y el encuentro y en definitiva, la vida social en el campus.
This approach has a priority of generating a meeting point without limitations, promoting ways to interact within the campus creating a more social university experience.
#6 Aparcabicis
Su diseño sencillo y práctico busca satisfacer la comodidad de sus usuarios, además de favorecer el uso de este medio de transporte para llegar hasta la escuela
It’s simple and practical design longs for satisfying the user’s comfort, also stimulating the use of the bikes as the main conveyance.
