More than a century ago, the Bauhaus school completely revolutionized arquitecture, design and art rules bringing back the basic geometry and its primary colors. It was a comeback of the very beginning.
Neuteur (german for new door) retakes this avant garde mentality taking nature as a disruption of this modern and geometric field. Just like tree roots in urban life growing their way through sidewalks, our campus disrupts the originally established rules of the Bauhaus. It does not vanishes them, it rebuilds them creating a unique experience. It is Bauhaus disrupted by nature.
As part of the identity of the campus to generate a greater sense of community and fellowship, a logo was made representing this disrupture through a new door to revolutionary and sustainable design. Nature takes back its rightul place at the center.
The campus was created to resemble the path of tree roots towards their core. Concieved with a convergent central space, each wing has its own typology, all coming forward towards the exhibition space representing all the student work leading to the final exposition.
Divided into three different wings, it offers different areas and spaces. The longest wing having the residency space while the two others give life to classrooms, workshops, a two story library, and an auditorium.
Based on the patterns and enveloping properties of a tree, a membrane was created to cover all the campus. This creates a numerous amount of different shadows and lighting such as those ones below a tree. All students and faculty members will be able to inmerse themselves in a natural and unforgettable experience within every space.
