Show the radical principles of Mies van der Rohe, the subtleties of his approach to architecture and experience, and at the same time make the building speak for itself. This is the task we have set for ourselves.
We have created a project that consists of two parts. The first part is architecture inspired by Mis’ projects. We tried to feel the power of his techniques and demonstrate them as much as possible. The second part of the building is an architectural fantasy on the theme of how Mis would design now.
Thinking about it, we realized that Mis loved luxury and minimalism. Nowadays these terms are associated with recycling and eco-friendly design. The fusion of nature and architecture, «light» structures, recycled materials, rainwater conservation techniques, techniques for creating the most energy-efficient building, an operational roof with cantilivered pool – that’s what is a conscious luxury in our time.
The two parts of the building differ in their appearance, but the approaches are the same. Reasonable use of space, conciseness unites the building.
We decided to choose the Siegel field situation because it suited our idea. We wanted to combine architecture and nature so that the building not only does not spoil nature, but also complements it.
