Mies Van Der Rohe was a revolutionary of his time in the field of Architecture. Designing around the nucleus of his core design principles –  openness and transparency. The concept perfectly integrates nature into itself, by providing a unique opportunity to use the green roof to access an outdoor public space for reading and other activities while at the same time allowing students to enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding areas. The Library must not be considered as an obstacle that will force people to pass through or have them walk around. This library has a staircase roof granting an unusual but practical additional accessibility. Moreover, the risers of the staircase are made of glass that would allow light to easily penetrate the interior of a space from an angle that wouldn’t allow the formation of any shadows that could potentially interrupt internal activities.
