A NEW SHAPE FOR THE BAUHAUS
The buildings divided the area in three main spaces: a large green space towards the residential area and two paved squares in the school area.
The project is developing the university area toward the city, while the residential areas face toward a closed street, creating a greater sense of privacy. The green space develops on the side of the railway going down towards the university space.
The residential area is made up of small volumes that relate to each other, taking up the traditional residences of the Bauhaus style, creating a sense of inclusion among students.
The exhibition space follows the style of the old Bauhaus. It consists of an L-shaped one floor volume that ends on one side with the extension of a small exhibition tower and on the other side with the bar that relates to the large green space in front of it.
The university building consists of a large bridge volume. It presents classrooms, collective study spaces and the library with the auditorium to the north and the laboratory to the south, creating a visual and physical continuity between all three volumes.
Concept is to create a new vision of a school building where students, professors and who go to the library coexist together and relate to each other.
