BAUHAUS COMPETITION 2021
General information – Bauhaus has been an ideal destination for Artist and Designer to experiment and integrate both fields of practice, leading to an advancement in our lives. Bauhaus emphasized on creating endless possibilities through exploring hands on. We would like to bring back the exploration process through a different approach.
Programming system – The course syllabus will give an opportunity for students to work with masters for the period of two and a half months. The system allows 5 different studying topics at a time. Each of 5 courses will start 2 weeks after another, with the calculated course period, the 5 courses will be able to rotate, sharing the 4 studios. The dormitory provides room for 5, allowing students from different topics living together. The flow of use will be more efficient and allowing more interaction between students as everything will be rotated and shared.
Concept – Bauhaus campus 2021 separates programs into clusters, letting people to explore the campus. We encourage the student and guest to explore and inspire through communicating, meeting as well as visualizing variation of activities. Therefore the Bauhaus campus 2021 is designed to be an exhibition itself.
Digital presentation room – Digital presentation room located at the most forefront of the entrance, acting as both showcase and formal presentation room for students. By using transparent material, students and guests could participate in the presentation from a different perspective.
Exhibition space – Exhibition space connects the exterior and interior space together. The exhibition space is placed with columns of different heights, allowing students to exhibit their projects in a different posture.
Studio and workshop – Studio and workshop are located across the exhibition space, emphasizing both working process and outcome. Studio is placed on the second floor to gain visual connection all around. The facilities are located on the lower floor for convenience.
Resource center and auditorium – Resource center connected to the auditorium and acted as a cluster that distinct the living and working zones. As Bauhaus did not only produce physical objects but encourages performance art as well. We design the auditorium space in a way that the stage could be extended into the landscape.
